The way we work with...
Westonbirt,
the National Arboretum
We love trees at The Way. And as far as trees go, Westonbirt is the big one. An arboreal Apple.
With 600 acres of Grade I listed landscape and over 500,000 visitors per year, it’s a place that’s known and loved worldwide. We’re really proud to have been sharing Westonbirt’s stories for many years, through design, marketing and interpretation.
The story
We engage audiences with Westonbirt’s brand story across a range of deliverables, ultimately creating positive visitor experiences.

Stories about coppicing
where cycles are measured in decades, not days – told through interpretation made directly from the woods they’re in.

Communicating in film, media and print
about events such as BioBlitz, Enchanted Christmas – an illuminated family trail through a wintry treescape, and for the launch of their TreeTop walkway.

Sharing stories through the members’ magazine
for seven years, distributed quarterly to 30,000 Friends of Westonbirt.

Outdoor interpretation
about the Westonbirt tree team, who can be seen at work from the interactive viewing area at the Tree Management Centre.

Highlighting the world’s endangered and disappearing trees
through an informative pocket handbook and walking trail.

Westonbirt’s ongoing brand story
maintained through ads, campaigns, guidebooks, marketing comms, online graphics, packaging, trail guides…
Thanks and congratulations to you all on 'The Guide'. It is quite the best guide book I have ever read. From first sight and handling of the cover style, throughout the concept to the smallest details, it is an exemplar. Congratulations to the whole team.

The nitty gritty
We've worked with both Westonbirt and the Friends since we started out. Here are some of the results:
160+ projects completed to date covering signage & wayfinding, film, maps & guides, interpretation, events & exhibitions and marketing campaigns.
80% increase of Westonbirt web-page views compared to previous year following our seasonal marketing campaign.
For the first time, Enchanted Christmas 2016 completely sold out in advance, following shares of the new promotional film and the marketing materials we created.
